About the role

We are looking for a professional and highly motivated Lawyer with experience in Litigation & Dispute Resolution, including familiarity with litigation in the Victorian and Federal jurisdictions.

This is a busy practice area, with a strong base of existing clients, so your ability to relate well with clients is crucial. You will work closely with the team’s Special Counsel and Senior Associate to continue to develop your skills and build your practice.

You will provide tailored advice on a variety of matters and clients ranging from SMEs to large national organisations with a broad range of interesting and exciting work.

You will be organised, motivated and feel confident working as part of a close team, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on responding to requests in a timely manner.

We are looking for someone who is able to work full time or part time, which may include working across five days with reduced hours or a compressed working week and to work from either our Geelong or Melbourne office with flexibility to work from home as well.

You will deliver:

  • Specialised, tailored advice
  • Focused partnerships with clients
  • A proven ability to problem solve
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Efficient time management to maintain control of key priorities
  • Presentations to current and potential clients

You will have experience in:

  • Commercial Litigation, including advice work, negotiation and advocacy
  • Legal research
  • A broad range of commercial law matters, including business disputes, contract, insolvency and property
  • Drafting briefs, correspondence and court documents, including pleadings and witness statements
  • File management
  • Client management
  • Liaising with Counsel
