About the role

As we continue to expand our offering to our clients, we are looking for a professional, highly motivated and knowledgeable Senior Associate or Associate with demonstrated experience across the areas of:

• intellectual property, including trademarks, designs and copyright
• corporate governance, including regulatory advice and ACL compliance
• privacy and data protection.

Ideally, you will have a specific focus on one or more of these areas and be keen to build your practice in that area.  Your style of practice will be advisory and focused on building client relationships for the long-term.

This is a busy practice area, with a strong base of existing clients, so your ability to relate well with clients is crucial. You will work closely with our experienced Principal Lawyers, Special Counsel and our broader team, including providing support and guidance to early career lawyers and law graduates to continue to grow and develop their careers and the overall practice.

You will provide tailored advice to a variety of clients ranging from SMEs to large national organisations with a broad range of interesting work.

You will be organised, motivated and feel confident working autonomously and as part of a close team, and you will have demonstrated experience in bringing new work and maintaining solid client relationships.

We are looking for someone who can work full time, or part time which may include working across five days with reduced hours or a compressed working week and could be based in our Geelong or Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home from time to time as well.

• Efficient time management to maintain control of key priorities
• Presentations to current and potential clients
• Coaching and mentoring

You may have experience across these areas:

• Intellectual Property, including trademark registration, assignments and licencing, and brand protection advice
• Privacy and Data Protection
• Corporate governance
• Consumer/ trade practices
• Financing and Security documents
• Corporations Law including capital raising and capital reductions and share buybacks
