Leadership Transition: Anne O’Loughlin to Step Down as Managing Principal in 2025

Coulter Legal’s Managing Principal, Anne O’Loughlin will step down from the role of Managing Principal on 28 February 2025.

Anne’s journey with Coulter Legal began in 2005, marking this year as her 20th anniversary with the firm. Over these two decades, Anne has achieved numerous milestones, including becoming the first female partner and subsequently the first female Managing Principal in the firm’s history. These accomplishments have paved the way for future generations and have set a precedent for inclusivity within our organisation.

Beyond her professional achievements, Anne has made significant contributions to the broader community. Her involvement in various board positions, including Lazarus, Mackillop Family Services, and the Committee for Geelong, has had a significant impact. Her dedication to these roles demonstrates her commitment to making a positive difference beyond the confines of our firm. Anne’s practice as an Independent Children’s Lawyer has been a passion of hers over the years and again demonstrates her commitment to improving the lives of people, in particular children, in our community.

In 2024, Anne led the creation of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. This initiative saw an unprecedented number of people eager to participate, reflecting the importance and relevance of this cause. Anne’s efforts in this area have been instrumental in promoting a more inclusive and equitable workplace.

Anne will remain with Coulter Legal as a Consultant within the Family & Relationship Law team.

We thank Anne for her dedication and commitment to Coulter Legal as Managing Principal over the past four years, particularly Anne’s strengths in empathy, transparency and building connections across the business.

From 1 March 2025, Tom White will take on the Managing Principal role.
