Property and Conveyancing Paralegal

About the role

Working autonomously, but as part of the broader Conveyancing team, you will build strong, positive relationships with clients to help create their tomorrow.

With at least three years’ experience as a Property or Conveyancing paralegal, you will be comfortable in handling large and varied residential conveyancing and property files in an efficient and professional manner. You will be organised, motivated and feel confident working autonomously in a high-volume environment.

Your excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly build rapport and deliver on client expectations will be vital. You will manage the end-to-end conveyancing process, file management and other duties as required in the office.

Specifically, you will have experience in:

  • Residential sale and purchase files
  • Reviewing Contracts of Sale
  • Preparing and managing sub-division files
  • Drafting initial letters and correspondence, including reviewing special conditions
  • Preparing settlements in PEXA with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Invoicing and preparing statement of accounts
  • Conducting relevant searches and certificates

Ideally you will also have experience with:

  • Self-managed superannuation fund transfers and trust transactions
  • Preparing draft deeds

You will deliver:

  • Excellent client focused service to assist our clients through every step of their transaction
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, and pride in your work
  • Willingness to pitch in and help others in the team as required
  • Efficient time management to maintain control of key priorities.

You will bring:

  • High level conveyancing and/or property knowledge
  • Experience and knowledge of PEXA and duties online
  • Solid experience with residential sale and purchase, off the plan and auction documents
  • Proven ability to work in a high volume environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work well within a team
  • Positive, proactive and flexible attitude
  • Experience with Lexis Affinity desirable but not essential

This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office, or at our head office in Geelong.  After the first month of training, you will have the opportunity to work from home one day per week or as otherwise agreed.  We are accepting applications from people who wish to work either full time or part time.
