About the role

We are looking for a professional, highly motivated and knowledgeable Senior Associate with demonstrated experience in general corporate and commercial work, including purchase and sale of businesses, corporate structuring, intellectual property, franchising and trademarks.

This is a busy practice area, with a strong base of existing clients, so your ability to relate well with clients is crucial. You will work closely with our Principal Lawyers and our team, including providing support and guidance to early career lawyers and law graduates.

You will provide tailored advice to a variety of clients ranging from SMEs to large national organisations with a broad range of interesting work.

You will be organised, motivated and feel confident working autonomously and as part of a close team, with a desire to build a practice.

We are looking for someone who is able to work full time, or part time which may include working across five days with reduced hours or a compressed working week and could be based in our Melbourne office with flexibility to work from home as well.

You will deliver:

• Specialised, tailored advice
• Strategic and cohesive partnerships with clients
• A proven ability to think out of the box, problem solve and improve processes
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Efficient time management to maintain control of key priorities
• Presentations to current and potential clients
• Coaching and mentoring

You will bring:

• Purchase and sale of businesses with experience in legal and commercial negotiations
• Equity structuring including employee incentive schemes
• Insolvency Advice
• Privacy Laws
• Financing and Security documents
• Corporations Law including capital raising and capital reductions, share buybacks
• Intellectual Property including trademarks and licencing agreements
• IT agreements
• Franchising
