Ali is an experienced senior lawyer who has worked in private practice, community legal services and as an in-house lawyer. Ali specialises in employment, discrimination, human rights and equality law.

Ali’s practice focuses on assisting organisations and businesses to proactively prevent workplace and people issues. To do this, she works closely to understand the business and its specific risk factors and provides strategic policy and due diligence advice regarding respect @ work, diversity, inclusion and gender equality. She enjoys assisting organisations and businesses navigate complex and evolving regulatory environments in these areas and implementing initiatives to promote positive, strategic, and systemic change.

Ali also provides advice to employers on aspects of the employment lifecycle including dismissals, general protections, bullying and harassment and is experienced conducting complex workplace investigations.

Ali advises and represents both applicants and respondents in discrimination and human rights matters in State and Federal jurisdictions across all areas of public life including employment, sport, education, accommodation, and service provision. Ali has a special interest in sexual harassment law and is experienced managing sexual harassment claims in relevant jurisdictions such as VCAT, the Fair Work Commission and the Federal Court.

Ali enjoys academic writing and public speaking about discrimination and equality issues and has published a feature article in the Alternative Law Journal: 'Identifying victims of sexual harassment in the age of #MeToo: Time for the media to prioritise a victim's right to privacy.'
