James is an experienced Family & Relationship Law Special Counsel and advocate. Prior to commencing with Coulter Legal, he was a Partner for 5 years at a prominent Shepparton Firm.
Having been admitted in 2012, James has more than a decade of experience representing clients in all manner of Family & Relationship Law disputes, from amicable matters where parties have required legal assistance to codify arrangements agreed between themselves, through to Relocation Cases, Recovery Order Proceedings, and cases involving significant risk factors. James has also practiced extensively in relation to Family & Relationship Law property matters, from negotiated resolutions by way of Binding Financial Agreements, to complex litigious matters involving businesses, trusts, and complex financial structures.
James has a diverse client base, including having represented clients with national business interests, property developers, and other business owners. Having spent many hundreds of hours appearing personally in Court, in all manner of Family & Relationship Law, Intervention Order, and Criminal Defence matters, he is an experienced and reliable advocate.
While always striving for a negotiated resolution when possible, James’ pragmatic and straightforward approach allows clients to know where they stand during all stages of the Family Law or Court process.
